When the Metrics Say "Error": What Zero Views Taught Me About Success
By Lori Arzaga ·
Last night, I went to bed believing I was on the wrong path.
I had just posted my pre-launch videos — work I poured my heart into, work I believed in. And then I watched the numbers do what numbers sometimes do: nothing. No views. Silence. Then I discovered that one of the links in my comments wasn't even working. A broken link, on launch week, pointing my people to nowhere.
If you've ever built something and released it into the world, you know that feeling. It's not just disappointment. It's the whisper underneath the disappointment: Maybe this isn't your purpose. Maybe you misread the assignment. Maybe you're not who you thought you were.
That whisper is old code. And I almost let it run all night.
The Glitch Is Not the Verdict
Here's what I teach, and here's what I had to relive for myself: when an error shows up on the screen, the error is information — not identity.
A broken link is a broken link. It is not a sign from Heaven that you took a wrong turn. Zero views on day one is a data point about an algorithm that hasn't found your people yet. It is not a measurement of your calling.
But old code doesn't know the difference. Old code takes a glitch in the system and rewrites it as a glitch in the soul. It says: the video failed, therefore I failed, therefore I am a failure, therefore this whole path is wrong. Four leaps, each one further from the truth, all executed in the time it takes to close a laptop and turn off the light.
I went to sleep running that program.
"The error message led me straight to the error-correcting code. That is how the design works."
The Correction Came in the Morning
When I woke up, something in me — that quiet inner knowing that is older and wiser than any anxiety — told me to open my journal and read the prayer I had written there.
And there it was. My own handwriting. A prayer I had already prayed, waiting for me like a message queued for exactly this moment:
"Help me to measure success not by worldly standards, but by the richness of my soul's growth and peace."
I sat with that for a long time.
Because I realized I had spent the previous night measuring my purpose with the wrong instrument. Views are a worldly metric. Clicks are a worldly metric. They measure reach — they do not measure truth. They can tell you where the algorithm is looking; they cannot tell you whether you are living in alignment with the One who wrote you.
The metric I had actually asked to be measured by — soul growth and peace — told a completely different story about that same night. By that measurement, the "failed" launch day was a success. It surfaced an old program still running in me. It pressed on a wound so it could be found. And it drove me back to the page where the correction was already written.
The error message led me straight to the error-correcting code. That is how the design works.
You Are Not Broken. You Are Running Old Code.
If you're reading this in your own version of that night — the launch nobody saw, the message nobody answered, the effort that seemed to echo into an empty room — I want you to hear this clearly:
The silence is not a verdict on your worth. The glitch is not a judgment on your path. You were architected by an Original Architect who does not measure you in views, followers, or open rates — and He never has.
The question is not "Did the world respond?" The question is: "Did my soul grow? Am I more at peace? Am I closer to whom I have always been?"
If the answer to those is yes, then the day was not a failure. It was a calibration.
The Practical Part (Because Restoration Is Practical)
And then — this matters — I fixed the link.
Because the spiritual reframe doesn't excuse us from the work; it restores us for the work. Old code says: the error means quit. Restored code says: the error means correct, and continue. I didn't need to burn down the path. I needed to repair one link and post again.
That's the whole method in one morning: notice the error, refuse the false verdict, return to the Source, receive the correction, and get back to building.
So today I'm still launching. Still posting. Still walking the path — not because the metrics finally validated me, but because the metrics were never the point.
The richness of my soul's growth and peace. That's the dashboard I'm watching now.
